LIFETIME STATS & HISTORY

This section covers the National Football League's many aspects of stats that are broken down by points scored in regular season, holidays standings, past standings, month, week, weekday, and other such areas of the game.  By digging into the links on this page, you can read about how teams were given their names, what team won Super Bowl 4, and even find out what team is 3-0 when they play the Super Bowl in February, but 0-2 when it's played in January.  You can read about the Heidi game from the 60's or find out what AFL team had the best record while it was still a league.

Did you know that the only team to win a Super Bowl during a strike year is the Washington Redskins?  They did it twice, 1983 and 1987.  Most NFL fan sites dig into the players and their individual contributions to the game, while this site shows how the team did in certain situations, like the playoffs, Monday Night Football, and it also shows a teams record in games where a team scores 40 points or more in a game.

Did you know that the NFL will be scheduling up to two NFL games outside of the United States starting in the year 2007?  The first game to take place in another country during a regular season was in 2005, the Arizona Cardinals defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City, Mexico.  This game set a new record for those in attendance to a single game for the NFL.  A new section has been added to this site to keep track of those games too.

The NFL implemented a new scheduling policy in 2006 for games played on Sunday nights.  TO bolster television ratings for the games being played on NBC, the NFL has adapted to picking the best game potential for this time slot.  Instead of having a 1-9 team play a 9-1 team, the NFL wants to make the games more competitive and have a direct impact for teams that might be making it to the playoffs for that season.  A new section under the Sunday Night games has been added to show the record of the teams that have been selected for this Flex Scheduling.

In 2006, the Kansas City Chiefs became the first team to host a night game in the NFL on Thanksgiving, and also the first team to win on the inauguration of the NFL Network hosting football games, this was all in the same night, the Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos 19-10.  Just another example of the type of records you can find on this site, this one you can find under the Records by NFL Network menu.

This site has the box scores from the first season until this current season, the strike scab team records, records by week, months, days, holidays, playoffs, night games, and team vs. team dating back to the first NFL games in 1920.  If you like the numbers of the game, then you should enjoy this site.

If you want to see what the stadiums look like that the current NFL teams play in, that has been added to this site also, along with the past NFL Man of the Year awards, along with Night game results, the AFL History, and much more, with a lot more pages planned for the near future.
